Job SummaryThe Caesars Entertainment Equine Specialty Hospital (CEESH) is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our growing team! The CEESH is a recently completed premier performance horse veterinary hospital providing specialty referral, medical and surgical services while supporting equine research and education in Shelbyville, Indiana.
Horse owners and trainers have access to our team of specialists, and extensive diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, including advanced diagnostic imaging, shockwave therapy, nuclear medicine, regenerative medicine, endoscopic laser surgery and specialized equine orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.
Dedicated in April 2017, the Caesars Entertainment Equine Specialty Hospital is one of the first veterinary hospitals in the U.
S.
offering groundbreaking diagnostic services with the Qalibra Computed Tomography (CT) system.
Designed specifically for equine patients, the unique system features the world's largest field-of-view and is height adjustable to match the size of the horse, making it possible to scan patients while they are safely standing or under general anesthesia or light sedation.
Successful candidates for this role will provide equine handling assistance to faculty and staff by performing various types of clinical services related to equine patient care.
This position will assist with animal positioning and restraining in ancillary services such as Diagnostic Imaging and surgical procedures.
At times, there will be an expectation to monitor inventory/supplies and order when necessary.
Communicate with clinicians regarding changes in condition of patients in addition to performing various record keeping tasks.
Due to the educational nature of this facility, there will be times when employees are expected to train Veterinary Technician and Purdue Veterinary Medicine students on large animal handling, proper restraint, and how to approach large animals safely.
This position may have extended hours and/or come in on an emergency basis including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Required High school diploma/GED 3 years of Equine handling experience in a farm, a barn, at a veterinary practice, a veterinary teaching hospital or related experience Must be very skilled in large animal handling Must be able to work under pressure and adapt well in emergency situations Must be comfortable with recognizing patients in distress Must be able to jog horses for extended periods over short distances for lameness evaluations Must be able to handle horses on lunge lines for gait analysis Must be able to move/restrain animals in a safe manner to protect patient and humans Must be able to read and write English Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions Must possess good oral and written communication skills Must have basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word/Outlook/electronic email and data entry) Preferred:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
