The Customer Service Specialist within the Office of the Registrar will serve as a fully competent professional contributor, working to achieve day-to-day objectives focusing on customer service.
Using established procedures, primary responsibilities include student outreach, assistance with management of student customer service staff and serving as a public point of contact for campus stakeholders.
Additionally, this position requires the ability to think quickly, critically and independently, using problem solving and judgment skills to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
With minimal supervision, appropriately handle, trouble shoot, problem solve and use critical thinking for a quick resolution for non-standard phone, walk-in, and email inquiries while ensuring compliance within the University Regulations.
Serves as the first point of contact for customer service inquiries for all Office of the Registrar units.
Organize and maintains paper and electronic records and requests.
Problem solves and identifies trends in customer service interactions.
Makes recommendations to leadership based on feedback and data.
Develop and maintain tracking metrics for office leadership.
This position will frequently engage, both in-person and virtually, with current students, their families, and campus partners.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree.
One year of experience in a customer service role.
In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (High School Diploma
5 years of experience).
Intermediate level mastery of Microsoft Office suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a large multi-campus research university.
