Job SummaryPurdue University and its College of Agriculture are looking for the right person that possesses excellent planning, leadership, budgeting, financial analysis, problem-solving, organizational project management, and customer service skills to become the next Business Manager within its business office.
As the Business Manager, you will Direct the management of finances and business services for Agricultural Research and Graduate Education (ARGE), Plant Sciences, and the Purdue Agricultural Centers (PAC).
Provide financial account management, control, and proper interpretation of university, federal, and sponsoring agency policies, and procedures.
Work closely with central offices and other business services entities in the delivery of quality and efficient services that support the learning, discovery, and engagement missions of the College of Agriculture and Purdue University.
There will also be a need to serve as staff accountant for the College of Agriculture including federal and state appropriations allocated to Agricultural Research Programs and the Cooperative Extension Service.
Provide leadership to the College regarding non-grant account management.
Assist Business Managers with clean-up, process changes, and overall management of non-grant accounts.
Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate's location and interestRequired:
Bachelor's degree with at least 6 hours of accounting 6 years of progressive business administration, accounting, financial management, or related experience Supervisory experience Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and implement policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to understand and prepare complex data analysis and present data according to user requirements Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels Must be able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes teamwork to successfully guide the work of others Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes, e.
g.
SAP, etc.
Personal computer and related software skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, etc.
) necessary Conflict management, poise, resilience, flexibility, accountability, problem-solving, and decisiveness skills Preferred:
Higher Education experience Working knowledge of educational and/or accounts receivable software such as SAP, Concur, Ariba, Cognos Reporting, etc.
