Examples of the types of care provided during visits may include:
Adequate mental and physical exercise via walks, play, and training.
Strengthening particular obedience behaviors during repeated visits.
Providing medicine administration and grooming (as needed), excluding hair cuts.
Supervise small off-leash play sessions.
Pet sitting duties such as feeding, walking, watering plants, collecting mail, and sometimes staying overnight in the client's home.
Provide pet transport (with the employee's personal vehicle) for field trips and to various locations throughout town (vet office, groomer, etc.
) Training will be provided as needed for medicine administration or any grooming practice, and continuously for best animal training and handling practices.
What We Are Looking for:
A diligent person that has a passion for working with animals (primarily cats and dogs, but also some pocket pets, reptiles, birds).
Previous experience working or volunteering with animals is required A well-rounded individual that can communicate effectively with clients (that are assigned to you) and coworkers on a frequent basis.
Communication skills are a must.
The physical ability to actively engage animals in exercise, including but not limited to walks upwards of 45 minutes in length, multiple times throughout the day.
A person that is willing to grow their knowledge base in areas such as behavior, training, health, grooming, and overall animal care.
An understanding of (or desire to learn) the use of non-aversive, non-force based methods of learning in all interactions with clients' animals.
A reliable means of transportation is necessary as well as the availability to work some holidays.
Ability to work weekends and do overnights (up to 5 per month) is highly preferred.
