Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne invites applications for the position of Human Resources Generalist for Human Resources & Office of Institutional Equity. As part of the HR and OIE department, this position will be responsible for performing various HR-related duties on a professional level, and will:
Employee Relations, Performance Management and Recruitment
Assist Human Resources managers with daily employee relations and performance management issues and/or complaints involving workplace conduct
Assist managers with exit interview process and recommend improvements
Assist with recruitment efforts
Assist in posting and reviewing applicants
Training and Organizational Development:
Direct and coordinate new hire onboarding process and conduct orientation for initial employee welcome
Assist manager with training and organizational development initiatives such as material development, training and communications
Provide support for employee recognition programs; identify and recommend program improvements and outreach
Assist with various initiatives, projects and surveys, and identify ways to improve efficiencies and processes
HR Operations and HR Support:
Manager HR-OIE newsletter and other departmental campus mass communications
Create and produce departmental reports and assist in the development, revision and implementation of reports
Analyze and compile HR data into reports and presentations as needed
Implement and administer Human Resources policies; identify ways to improve procedures and recommend policy improvements
Provide benefits information and support manager during open enrollment
Identify and assist with departmental website needs and or/improvements
Be responsible for the organization and execution of HR-OIE-sponsored activities and functions
Work effectively with diverse populations to provide prompt response and follow-through regarding questions, concerns and issues in an accurate and confidential manner
Have working knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including FMLA, NLRA, Title IX, ACA, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA
Assist with the Affirmative Action plan development
Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as required
Participate on university committees
Other duties as assigned
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
Three years Human Resources Generalist experience
Experience with Windows applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Appropriate bias for action that demonstrates basic understanding of business needs and customer satisfaction standards
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Broad knowledge of Human Resources processes, functions and laws
Strong understanding and competence in interpersonal savvy, inclusion and diversity
Organizational skills and attention to detail, problem solving, critical thinking, judgment, and teamwork
Ability to build positive relationships with a diverse group of people
Knowledge and ability to work with, partner and meet the needs of faculty and staff
Preferred:
HRIS software experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
